Day twenty one saw checking the flooding from last night beside the Waitomo Club where we stayed. It was still raining but the water level in the creek beside us had dropped. We walked up the street and viewed the shops and the lovely gazebo with varied woods, hand prints and the carvings. Mort and Gwenda left us to drive to Auckland to have bits added to their motorhome. They will rejoin us later in the week
We then drove to the Waitomo Caves area. Because of the heavy rain and price we didn't visit the caves. We then travelled to Otorohanga where we again walked the streets before travelling on to Raglan. We stopped for lunch at Pirongia. We arrived at Raglan early afternoon and decided to stay the night at the Raglan Club. We walked around the town, did laundry and odd jobs on the motorhomes before a happy hour in the club. Tea was fish and chips on the beach.
Wally Award went to Don for walking into a film at Waitomo without paying then wandering out when we didn't come in.
No pics yet.
