Day eleven started was us at Tokaanu Yacht Club. We moved down the road to a thermal pool complex where most of the group went swimming. Barry and Kay joined us again and Tony and Trudy left us to go to Hastings so Trudy could spend time with her brother. Don and Val stayed last night at Taupo and then left for Rotorua and Whakatane. All members will assemble again for the trip through the Forgotten Highway, probably starting Monday.
After soaking the bodies we left for Taupo. We had several stops along the way to view the lake. We parked in Taupo by the lake, had lunch, then divided into guys and gals to walk the shops. Apart from delicious ice creams, nothing was bought.
We then moved out of town to a free parking spot called Reid's Farm. This is on the banks of the Waikato River just above Huka Falls. We intend viewing the falls tomorrow.
Lucky Barry still has the Wally Award.
