Day 19 - New Plymouth to Mokau

Day nineteen is Saturday and dress-up for happy hour. More on this later. We left New Plymouth after a night in the Boy Racer meeting place, so not a lot of sleep was had. Most drove to Fitzroy and went to the Supermarket and a few other shops before leaving town and making our own way to Mokau. Mokau is the place where a German mine was washed ashore just after WW2. We camped just south of the Mokau River. It was a quick walk over the stop bank to the river. I spent a bit of time casting for kawhai but was unlucky. Bob walked into the settlement to check the beach for launching the Kontiki. We decided to leave it for tomorrow as the tide was running out fast and access was difficult.

At half past four new people in fine dress started leaving vans for happy hour. I will leave the pictures to describe them. The winner was Weldon.

After considering all the possible Wally Award winners, Bob decided to to give it to Mort for blocking a walkway with his bus.
