Day thirty-six we left Whangarei in our own time. Most went to dump, to fill with fuel or complete shopping. Barry and Bob spent time fixing a leak in Barry's bus. We had decided to meet at Uretiti Beach. Our Navman took us to the Waipu Caves, miles inland. IT was a nice drive we didn't want. The beach had large sand hills so we didn't stay there long, we just met and drove to Waipu Cove for lunch. This is a beautiful beach. The toilets had murals showing the history of the area.
After lunch we drove on to Mangawhai Heads. Several groups became separated and only two of us made it. Another beautiful beach but along way from the parking area. We then drove on towards Snells Beach and as we drove the groups came together again. At Snells Beach we found Mort and Gwenda parked up so we stayed the night.
